Honorable Mentioned at Monochrome Awards 2021

Already for the second time a photograph of mine was awarded at the Monochrome Awards competition in the category architecture >link.

Architecture is of particular interest to me for many reasons. The way we build our houses and cities reflects to a great extent the state of our culture. From a historical point of view, architecture always contains the vision of the aesthetics and society of a time that has already passed. Since the lifespan of buildings is often quite long, we live today in the concepts of life of the past. It is difficult to focus our view (even the photographic one) on our lifestyle today without also taking into account the traditions that surround us.

In the series Beauty, Order And Convenience, I was interested in the grid that underlies the cityscape of Manhattan. How it shapes the appearance and how it merges buildings from different eras into a unity.
